I heard there's a Father
That whenever I falter
I could call on his grace
And help for my race
Well my world is on fire
And the smoke rises higher
I scared that if I look up
I'll see an angry God at the top
I spend my Sundays at home
My Bible is buried in a tome
I've always depended on myself
And focused only on the pelf (money)
Oh God, if you're listening
I know my sins are glistening
But I need your light on my path
Although all I deserve is your wrath
I'm going down on my knees
And I'm begging you please
Give ear to my entreats
Make my suffering your detainees
I'm young and I'm foolish
But right now, I'm finished
My last hope is to whisper a prayer
"God, save me from myself - the destroyer"
