A True Shepherd Versus A Hireling
A faithful and true shepherd, is willing to do all that is necessary to defend and save the flock. He is always concern about his sheep, their well being and security matters to him than anything.
I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd gives his life for the sheep. But he that is a hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, sees the wolf coming, and leaves the sheep, and flees: and the wolf catches them, and scatters the sheep. The hireling flees, because he is a hireling, and cares not for the sheep. I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine. As the Father knows me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep. John 10:11-14
Jesus said of himself to be a true Shepherd of our souls, He is a true shepherd and spiritual leader who is wiling to defend us at all times and will not allow any harm to come upon us.
The scribes and Pharisees who protested the teachings of Christ Many times were seen to be just like hirelings who were not interested in seeing souls saved but to fulfill their selfish interest.
They taught human traditions instead of God’s commandments and enslaved the Jewish people and strengthened their own power. They were thieves who robbed the flock and devour them like wolves.
In recent timed they are like the false prophets and teachers who have joined the ministry work and are deceiving people, robbing them and destroying lives.
It is high time we all come to the knowledge of the Christ by sticking to the scripture to help us identify these hirelings who have entered the sheepfold and pretented to be true shepherds.
