Preserving with peace --- Devotional

I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the Lord sustains me (Psalm 3:5)

My friend's grandmother,Nana Fowaah, keeps on trusting God through her struggle with persistent pain. Even the uncomplicated setbacks felt like a ferocious enemy attacking her. One problem would jab her from the right, problem Two would thrust her from behind, problem Three would then hit her in the nose. Amidst these times, when her strength dwindled and immediate relief evaded her, running seemed like a good idea to her. However, since she can not outrun her pain, alter her situation, or ignore her emotions, she slowly learned to rely on God to carry her through.

When I am in need of comfort,motivation, and courage, I sometimes pray-fully read through book of psalms which honestly bring situations before God. In one of my dearest psalms, David fled from his son,Absalom, who sought to end his life and take his kingdom. Although David grieved his painful situation (Psalm 3:1–2), he still trusted God for protection and expected an answer to his prayers (Verse 3–4). King David didn’t lose his sleep over worries or fears all because he was able placed his trust in God to preserve and save him (Verse 5–8).

Physical and emotional pains often can feel like aggressive foes. We may be enticed to give up or hoped we could evade when we are jaded, and can not see the end of our battles. Like David, we always can learn put our trusts in God and have faith that He will hold us up and aid us rest in His unending and loving presence.
