Food for the Soul

The angel of the Lord ame back a second time and touched him and asid, “ Get and eat becaue the journey is overwhelming for you”, So he did as directed and with renewed energy of the food traveled forty days and nights until he finally reached Horeb, God’s mountain. Amen.

Food contributes a lot to the quality of life one may have, as such most of us are mindful of what goes into our system. The energy to be able to go about our daily activities is very important and most of it if not all comes from the foods we eat, it is for this reason why lack of food or inadequate balanced diet in our system can be menacing to us. Take for instance a country suffering from famine, such as state tend to have its socio-economic development halted not out of its own accord though, the reason being that it citizens need to be fed before they can function for effectively to increase productivity and national development.

In the same vain, spiritual food is very essential for our spiritual growth and development, the Word of God is essential for the nourishment of our lives both physically and spiritually. It is the healthiest of foods for your soul, the perfect balanced diet. In the Book of John we learn that the Word is also Jesus, the manna brought down from heaven to feed us, nourish and nurture us and to strengthen us for the difficulties of life. He is the unending river of life, the Bread that feeds and quenches hunger forever.
