How does God teach me to persevere?

Greetings, beloved in the Lord.

We will share a theme centered on How does God teach me to persevere?

Perseverance can be defined as our ability to accept difficult situations as coming from God, without giving a deadline for resolution. We know that we must learn to persevere, but we generally avoid the process by which that kind of patience takes hold in our lives.

Ours is the generation of the "instantaneous". We want all things immediately. We refuse to wait to receive the direction or provision of the Lord, and that is why we surrender to discouragement or proceed to act on our own initiative. However, rejecting God because we can not do things our way, or anticipate the perfect timing in God's clock, are costly and disappointing courses of action.

Psalm 27:14 warns us:

"Wait for the Lord, be strong, and let your heart be strong, if he waits for the Lord."
The Thessalonians were doing just this with excellence, and Paul praised them for standing firm in the faith, even though they faced terrible opposition. The apostle wrote: "Your faith is growing, and the love of each of you abounds for others, so much so that we ourselves praise you in the churches of God, for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that you endure. to be considered worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you also suffer. "

The problems of these believers did not lead them to renounce faith. Rather, the Thessalonians trusted in the Lord and matured in their relationship with Him. Through their difficulties, God was teaching them to appropriate a constant hope and the kind of preeminence that nothing could destroy.

Similarly, He can allow us to experience difficulties or wait until relief comes from some situation or obstacle, for several reasons:

  • The Lord is teaching us to have discipline and integrity in waiting.
  • God is using adversity to reveal the hidden sin in our lives.
  • The Lord wants to teach us to depend on Him, not on ourselves or on other people.
  • God is shaping our character in such a way that we honor him with our life.
  • God wants to teach us to trust in his ways and in his time to do things, so that we also recognize that this is the best for us.

For that reason, James 1: 2-4 encourages us with these words: "Have joy, when you meet in various trials, knowing that the test of your faith produces patience, but that patience has its full work, so that you can be perfect, and complete, without losing anything. "
In times of difficulty, we learn to persevere and understand the Lord as our hope and our victory. Our problems may not be pleasant, but they are helpful in our relationship with Him and our character, as it teaches us to trust in Him, to wait on Him, and to have full confidence in His provision.

Therefore, in the face of adversity, do not lose hope. Hold onto God and trust Him no matter what happens. He is teaching you to persevere, and that is a lesson worth learning.

Christ gave us the greatest example of perseverance.
Circumstances are not easy to face, especially when we try to solve them with our own strengths and abilities, I want to remind you that there is a way how the heavier burden becomes lighter. Through Christ. When He guides our steps, everything that seems impossible becomes possible; and what we believe we can not stand, becomes something that we can deal with a pious attitude. To this capacity that God gives us to face the most difficult moments and still continue trusting in Christ, is what we call perseverance.
