22 For there is nothing hidden that is not to be revealed; nor hidden, that will not come to light.
23 If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear.
24 He said to them, "See what you hear; for with the measure with which you measure, it will be measured to you, and even those who hear will be added to you.
25 For whoever has, it will be given; and to the one who does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.
This parable emphasizes the need to listen carefully to receive blessings or judgment, Jesus makes an exemplification about the true role played by light and warns that light can never hide because it has the function of shining and shining in the middle of any space , and even when the light is present the darkness flees because the light extinguishes and dissipates any darkness.
Precious things, such as jewelry or silverware, are kept until the appropriate time to use them. In the same way, certain aspects of the divine truth must be reserved for its full manifestation later, after the ascension of Christ.
Jesus taught in parables, not with the purpose of concealing the truth, but of temporarily hiding it from his enemies. Then he charged his disciples with the responsibility of revealing it. That is why Jesus urges them to listen and heed his recommendations.
Jesus appeals to spiritual perception. Those who receive and assimilate the truth, will increase their capacity for understanding and knowledge. Those who do not believe, or are indifferent, will lose all their capacity for understanding and, therefore, remain ignorant.
