THE TORTURE OF DOUBTING YOURSELF

Special greetings to the whole community.

I will share in this message about "The torture of doubting yourself".

In the book of 1 Samuel 30: 6, the Lord tells us:

And David was very distressed because people talked about stoning him, because all the people were bitter, each one for his sons and daughters. But David was strengthened in the Lord his God.

If we do not believe in ourselves, who will? God believes in us, and it is a good thing; Otherwise, maybe we would never move forward. In our lives, we can not expect someone to come and encourage us to be all we can be. We may have the blessing of that kind of support, but that may not be the case.

When David and his men found themselves in a situation that seemed hopeless, so the men blamed him, David was encouraged and strengthened in the Lord. Later, that situation changed completely (1 Samuel 30: 1-20).

On another occasion, when David was just a child, everyone around him discouraged him from his ability to fight Goliath. They told him that he was very young and inexperienced, that he did not have enough armor or the right weapons, that the giant was very big and strong, and other things. David, however, trusted God.

Actually, all the things that people said were true. David was young, inexperienced, without armor and without weapons. The giant was obviously bigger and stronger than him. But David knew his God and trusted him. He believed that God would be strong in the midst of his weakness and that he would give him victory. He went out in the name of the Lord, with a heart full of confidence, he killed a giant and in the end he was crowned as king (1 Samuel 17).

David had no one to trust, so he believed in himself. He believed in the ability of God that was in him.

The Lord says to you today, my little brother in Christ: "I am in you, but I can only do through you what you believe".

Remember that doubt about oneself is true torture.

If we had to decide between doubt and trust, I prefer full trust in the Lord.

Trust is something we decide to have. We learn about God, about his love, his ways and his word, and in the end we have to decide whether we believe it or not. If we believe it, then we have confidence. If we do not believe it, we live with the doubt of everything.

Self-doubt does not cause people to have a double mind, and James 1: 8 teaches us that a double-minded man is inconstant in all its forms. He can not advance until he decides to believe in God and in himself.

Stop underestimating yourself

The Lord says in 2 Corinthians 2: 14.

More to God thanks, that always leads us to triumph in Christ Jesus ...

I encourage you to take a gigantic step of faith, leaving no doubt about yourself. As they say: "Do not underestimate yourself". You have more capacity than you think. You can do much more than what you have done in the past. God will help you if you put your trust in Him and stop doubting yourself.
Like all others, you will make mistakes, but God will allow you to learn from them and, in fact, will guide them for your own good, if you decide not to let yourself be defeated by them. When doubt begins to torture your mind, start speaking the Word of God with your mouth and you will win the battle.

@mamidalia Doubt leads us to consider-to vacillate about what God shows us and what we see - doubt paralyzes us, but truth gives us power.
doubt hinders the efficacy of prayer and the full expression of the gospel.
