MEMORIES

There is something wonderful in the book of psalms and it is that when I read them I find a mixture so strange that it makes me feel good. On the one hand, the psalmist thanks and exalts God with extraordinary words and phrases. When you read them, you think that you will never be able to write something similar and, at least, I am moved to tears. However, on the other hand there are also psalms full of much pain, despair and uncertainty. How is it explained then that the same man has written both types of texts? Will David have had bipolarity and from a state of euphoria to a state of deep depression? No, David was not bipolar, David was flesh and blood like you and me. I had "good" days and had "bad" days, just like you or me.

Now do you understand why I said that I felt good when I read Psalms? Precisely the "humanity" of David connects me with him, makes me understand that for him life was like mine and that in the happiest moments he came to God with as much intensity as when difficult times came.

I do not know if it happens to you, but there are days when you feel that the love of God comes to you even through the eyes; It is a sensation of feeling that you are in the right place and at the right moment, that at the end you are enjoying one of the happiest moments of your life and that it is all thanks to the immense love of Dad. And the sensation is not only that, it is a reality that becomes life every time I celebrate and share it with others. These days, so much happiness and abundant joy are the days that sustain your moments of loneliness or sadness.

There is a lot of talk about forgetting the past and leaving behind your last victory so that it is not an obstacle to what is coming, but I do not totally agree. I believe that God endowed us with an extraordinary ability to remember (although sometimes we would like to choose our memories, but that is something else) and if we are able to evoke the most special and happy moments we have had, those can be our motors for get ahead on the difficult day; that memory takes you to another place, to the place where everything is possible, to the place where you can achieve what you set out to do, but best of all: to the place where someday you were immensely happy.

If you could select your memories at this time, which ones would remain? What things have made you immensely happy and draw a smile on your face? Maybe it's an achievement, maybe it's a very special person or appointment that you had ... it could be that the person is no longer by your side, but at some point it helped you to be happy. More than with the memory, let's stay with what we feel at that moment and bring back happiness, gratitude, surprise, love, kindness, whatever! Invite them to come in, let them enter and occupy your mind, these memories will help you to remember that you were not always sad, that you did not always feel lack of love, that you did not always feel disappointment ...

If today you had to choose a single memory to sustain your life
What would?
Catch it and do not let it go!

Excellent reflection @marialara, memories are those that always live with us, but we must keep those that made us happy once in life and discard the bad memories.
Thanks for sharing.
