JESUS IN SEARCH OF THE LOST SHEEP

in #sc-v5 years ago

There are so many reasons that divert us from the road and we are moving away, in just an instant we are out there, lost without a fixed direction, just going around without getting anywhere, and that is that there are so many things that can take us away little by little and in such a subtle way, that without realizing we do not know either where we are going or how we got there.

Without wanting to begin to identify with the parable of the lost sheep because our own disobedience we move away from the real place where we should be, it is difficult to be in that situation, but at some point we all went through it, and the difficult thing is not to get there Until then, the really complicated thing is to return, after so much that has happened, now we have the doubt to return or stay there even if we are wrong and all because now, in addition to the reason that made us go away, we add everything we have done for try to solve things by ourselves, and some other mistake made in the span of that time.

We get to feel easy prey of the wolf, who looks at us and judges for having done things wrong, makes us feel guilty of what is happening now and takes away the desire to return to the flock, it is only there nearby, stalking us and waiting for the better time to attack us, while we stay away from the protection of our good shepherd who is watching us in the distance, as if he were waiting for us to decide to return, and that is that every time we think about doing it there is something that stops us, like the feeling of failure or the guilt for having driven us away.

In the parable of the 100 sheep, we can see that the lost sheep was a minimum percentage of the 100, just 1%, but nevertheless the shepherd leaves 99% of his flock to go and look for the one that had been lost in the road and goes in search of it.

What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them goes astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine and go through the mountains to look for the one that had gone astray? Matthew 18:12

Leaving all his flock for a few moments, to go in search of only one sheep speaks of the importance that the pastor gives to each one of them and is that although he has many others, he is not willing to lose even one, and when he goes and he finds her does not punish him for leaving, does not mistreat her for disobedient, but takes her with such joy and returns her back to the flock

And if it happens that he finds it, I tell you that he rejoices more for that one, than for the ninety-nine that did not go astray. Matthew 18:13

We are all sheep, and at some point out of curiosity or by our own choice we find ourselves lost, far from the flock of God, doing something that little by little has kept us away from the other sheep.

Maybe it was not your intention, but today you are far away and you do not even explain what happened, maybe you're wanting to return, but some guilt for having disobeyed does not let you go back, do not go further, do not let guilt or shame end up throwing you into the arms of the wolf, the enemy seeks its prey by handling all kinds of thoughts that make her feel guilty or that she does not deserve the opportunity to return.

He knows the reasons, but he forgives everything for love. Do not be deceived, Jesus the good shepherd, is always waiting for you with open arms, He will not reproach you for having left, he will not love you less for having distanced you, He remains close, waiting for you to decide to return, and He will be happy to have his beloved sheep back.

The work of the shepherd was very dangerous, however they were very well trained in the tracking and rescue of animals, searches sometimes involved several hours and risked their own lives on the cliffs to save their beloved sheep, which beautiful parable presents the Lord, we lost sheep and Jesus the good shepherd who went out in search of his sheep and had to pay the highest price of all: his own life to save us.
Think about the beautiful qualities of God's love that we learn in this parable: look for the lost, be patient, rejoice and protect them.
