The Proclamation Of His Mercy
The Scripture clearly says that we have to preach to all mankind about the mercy of the Lord. David said:
I did not conceal your justice within my heart; I have published your fidelity and your salvation; I have not hidden your mercy and your truth in a great assembly.

David did not just appropriate that wonderful message for himself. He knew that the entire congregation and the suffering world also urgently needed it. He was grateful to God for his great love, since he was aware of his own faults. Do not It matters how seriously people have sinned: God continues to love them. That is why he sent his Son. That is what we must preach to the world. Can we say with David: "I have not hidden your mercy in a great assembly"? That is what He wants for all of us. Perhaps one of the most quoted and sung verses of the whole Word of God is the following: "For your mercy is better than life; my lips will praise you "(Psalm 63: 3).
What does it mean that "his mercy is better than life"? The truth is that life is short. It vanishes like grass, which in one season is here and in the next it's gone. But the mercy of God will remain forever. Within a billion years, Jesus Christ will continue to be as tender and loving to us as he is in this moment.
Human beings can take someone's life, but they can not take away the eternal mercy of God.
Stop and think for a moment: God is no longer angry with us. The Word says that nothing can come between our Lord and us: neither guilt, nor torment, nor the thoughts of condemnation. We can say: "My life is a blessing to the Lord, and I can rejoice and praise Him. I am clean, free, forgiven, justified, sanctified and redeemed! "
We have a loving and tender Father who is interested in us. And when we begin to understand how compassionate he is to us - how patient and careful he is, how ready he is to forgive and bless - we can not contain ourselves. Let's shout and praise even more: "Truly his mercy is better than life!"
The mercy of God is eternal
His mercy is for centuries and even centuries. It is not spent, it does not change. But the mercy of the Lord is from eternity to eternity over those who fear him, and his righteousness over the children of the children (Psalm 103: 17). Why does this Scripture say that mercy is eternal? Well, it was not eternal if the one who owns it was not eternal, but we know that God is eternal, and that all its attributes are eternal. The word eternity can be defined in this way: it has no beginning or end, it has always existed, as well as its mercy.
His mercy has no limits
Someone once said: If all the sky were paper, if all the trees were pens and all the water of the sea was ink, yet the great love of God could never be described. So is the mercy of God, it is so great that it can not be described, its mercy is without limits. For greater than the heavens is its mercy, and even the heavens your truth (Psalm 108: 4). Notice that the verse says: greater than the heavens, how can you explain the mercy of God in your life? What did God do for you when you were sunk in the mud of sin? I think we can now understand how great God's mercy is.
The mercy of God prolongs life
Truly if it had not been for the mercy of God, neither you nor I were here. He saved us from many dangers, he preserved our lives and you know why he did it, because he had and has a plan with us. And he gave you life, when you were dead in your trespasses and sins (Ephesians 2: 1) . He remembers when Hezekiah became ill and God sends him a message with the prophet Isaiah that he was going to die, that is when Hezekiah humbled himself and God in his mercy gave him another fifteen years of life. (Isaiah 38: 1-5) The Scripture says: By the mercy of the Lord we have not been consumed, because his mercies have never waned. New are every morning; great is your faithfulness.
The mercy of God encourages repentance
God says in his Word that He does not hear the sinner, but if he repented, God moves to mercy, forgives him, cleanses him with his precious blood and makes him a new creature (2 Cor. 5:17); that God does not hear sinners; but if anyone is God-fearing, and does his will, he hears (John 9:31). God does his part when the person does his part. But the ungodly, if he turn from all his sins which he has committed, and keep all my statutes, and do according to right and justice, he shall surely live; will not die? (Ez 18:21) The ungodly is he who does not practice piety, but if he turns away from his sins he will obtain mercy. Rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn to the LORD your God; For he is merciful and merciful, slow to anger and great in mercy.
The mercy of God forgives sin
By virtue of the fall of man all men have become sinners. Sin is the only thing that will keep man out of heaven; heaven is a holy place and nothing bad will ever enter it. Since the sinner has broken God's law, only God can forgive his sins. That God like you, who forgives evil, and forgets the sin of the remnant of his inheritance? Did not he keep his anger forever, because he delights in mercy? (Mi. 7:18) No man, however religious he may be, can forgive his sins, only he who shed his blood on the cross; Christ Jesus the giver of life. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (I John 1: 9).
The mercy of God makes salvation possible.
No man can save himself however good he may be, he may be the most generous and helpful person, but this does not save him. In the Scriptures we find a man named Cornelius. This man was very generous and prayed to God and was a very good person, but he needed to be saved. (Read chapter 10 of the book of Acts.) No matter how great things man does, he still needs salvation and is through our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ. Pay close attention to what the Word says: He saved us, not for works of righteousness that we would have done, but for his mercy, for the washing of regeneration and for the renewal in the Holy Spirit (Titus 3: 5). We are not saved by sacrifices or by the works we do, but by grace and faith in Christ. Because by grace you are saved through faith; and this not of yourselves, it is the gift of God (Ephesians 2: 8).
