DNA the eternal data storage..

in #science6 years ago (edited)

Like I have always said the world is becoming more advance everyday by day. Talking about a data that will exist forever looking at a digital immortality. We demanding for an everlasting data storage using the DNA will help I achieving data that is very possible because it is extremely dense that is long lasting.

What is DNA?

A DNA can be said to be a scientifical storage that can store data at a density which several orders of magnitude which is greater than a average computer hard drive which can store a data for everlasting.

A DNA is compass of many advantages to the world data. It is believed and confirmed to last thousands of a thousand years in fact for eternal so far the machine is kept cool. It I actually believed that the scientist have been storing digital data in the DNA since 2012 which is when Harvard University genetic church, Sri Kosuri and colleagues encode a fifty two (52) thousand of snippets of the DNA using a four letter alphabet of A,G,T and C to encode the Os and Ls of the digital file.
This make it to continually improve in the volume of information that can be packed into a DNA. Data can be stored at a length in a DNA which is into millions of gigabytes per gram.
DNA storage has presents several millions of practical challenges which is of research effort.

TAKING A DNA BEYOND OF CONCEPT RESEARCH

Scientifically we need five orders of magnitude improvement in the price of writing a DNA. Some errors in DNA data storage are mostly similar to those in electronic media. The data can go missing or getting corrupted. There is one solution which is to build in radiancy by writing and reading multiple copies of each ologonucleotide.
DNA has long been considered a potential medium for digital data storage. It has the benefit of eternal storage.

REPRESENTING OF DATA IN DNA

DNA is known to have many properties which make a difference from existing storage media. A ls and store raw bits. There are challenges of representing a data in DNA. The approach of storing binary data in a DNA is to encode the binary data which produce a string of n/2. DNA synthesis process is prone to a wide variety of errors like (substituting, insertion and deletion of nucleotides). To avoid reducing this is by encoding binary data in base 3 instead of 4.

DNA in blockchain

Storing a DNA with Bitcoin sounds odd to most people who are not familiar with Bitcoin storage capabilities. The act of preserving DNA from generation to another generations is known to be an unreliable method according to the developers.

In blockchain Bitcoin underlying protocol boast to be a very useful storage properties. It makes the technology allows for a global record which will prove a new way to link transaction and chronology which can be useful for a variety of things.

A CASE STUDY THAT LED TO THE USE OF DNA

For example let’s look at my computer and its hard disk, hard disks are form of storage where my files are kept and recorded for future use. But looking at the situation on ground my hard disk can crash anytime whereby I will lose all my files and document , if I have eventually have a very relevant document on the hard disk there nothing I can do since the harddisk is crashed and faulty I have forever lose my files and document that can cause a very big damage to either my organization most expecially if it is my organization main documents.
But with the help of the DNA I can store my files and document and for sure I will be able to retrieve my files anytime I want it even if I am no more on this earth the document can still be seen and will be passed from generation to generation for future use and documentation.

MAKING DNA STORAGE A REALITY

Whatever the future of DNA is these complex technologies such projects will be testament to the perceived potential of molecule data storage.
