NASA // A C3PO IS MISSING

in #science6 years ago

Hello to all this great community of steemit greetings to all, this time I'm going to talk a little about a kind of robot that seems to lack NASA and is the famous robot called C3PO. Well, let's continue reading so we can enjoy this great publication.

The great intelligence and wonderful ability of a BB-8. The fantastic humanoid of a C3PO. So they can summarize the great robotic needs this is claimed by some NASA engineers. in particular, Kris Verdeyen, director of the Valkyrie Project, they study how to send humanoid robots to the planet Mars. In a recent article that was published in Science Robotics, they can explain that "these fantastic auxiliary robots and great next-generation caregivers may require a great knowledge like that of astromechanics and can achieve their ability to solve problems in real time."

For about 20 years, the great Johnson Space Center of NASA have been thinking about how to improve the design for the great robots that can accompany humans through territories that have not yet been explored. NASA has previously managed to send some humanoids known as Robonaut, Robonaut 2 and Valkyrie to space, mainly to explore the great potential of two-legged locomotion in hostile space environments.

While these humanoid robots have managed to demonstrate that great skills and the use of drills, surgical equipment and other tools that humans have on our planet Earth for repair in orbit, these tools are still not capable of producing on demand.

These robots known as (R2D2 and BB-8) are highly equipped with a great range of different devices and what is very important, these robots are so fantastic that they can provide the right tool for various situations. This is also getting familiar with the structure of the ship inside and outside, and also have additional forms of intelligence that allow a solution to problems that is more autonomous.

This says Verdeyen (Our astromechanics will need more intelligence). In order to overcome this great challenge, NASA in recent times has been exploring the (incorporated intelligence) or trying to be able to incorporate an intelligence that is artificial and quite deep and also a knowledge base like the IBM Watson in a robotic body .

Towards the folding robot And who would help those robots? this is a question what some people do, well we explain. Others, small and folding. A great team of Korean scientists have developed several folding robotic pieces that can be based on the origami philosophy. These can be compact as they can also be lightweight, they can be easily folded and re-open in three dimensional shapes. His approach could prove to be very effective in the construction of a single folding arm that can be durable and very functional.

Some such appendices can achieve several practical folding applications, but they are very difficult to build, this is due to the lack of structural rigidity, in search of a solution, Suk-Jun Kim and some of his colleagues could use a mechanism of Simple rigidity that is based on the origami principle of perpendicular folding. Stacked managed to apply multiple tendons to be able to create a robotic arm that was extensible for a UAV, this shows that a drone would have the opportunity to target several objects that are in the narrow spaces that otherwise would be impossible to reach.

A tendon, which is elastic and which is connected through the hollow rectangles, this initiates the folding action, this is connected to a single motor. The key to achieving the rigidity of the actuators is what he calls the "locker", this is a rather thin rectangular piece that sits on one of the origami folds, which tend to act in order to maintain its great three-dimensional shape and its great flexural strength. Some authors even said that future uses of actuators may include inspections of chimneys, pipes and bridges underneath, and obtaining samples of cracks in rough terrain.

In this part I'm going to show you a video of some of these robots that I'm talking about
