Miyawaki reforestation method, get trees to grow 10 times faster

A method to grow forests that normally would in 100 years, in just 10 years. With this method of reforestation, trees grow 10 times faster than monocultures.

This method stems from the concern of a Japanese man during the 1970s. He noted that the forests in Japan were extremely flammable and with many weaknesses.

Even though the timber industry prefers monocultures and conifers, which are extremely flammable, this man studied and managed to develop a method to grow forests that grew 10 times faster than monocultures. And that they were much less flammable, more fire resistant.

Miyawaki is a specialist in plant and seed ecology. It has planted more than 40 million trees worldwide. Mapping the vegetation to study the environmental impact and mark biological corridors.

What was the Miyawaki method based on?

It was based on taking advantage of the "potential natural vegetation" principle. Where any land that is fertile and without any human intervention would develop a lush and sustainable forest in a maximum of 1000 years.

If in this same area, human intervention exists, the development time of the forest would be shortened to 100 years. But with the Miyawaki method, which has been perfected by Shubhendu, an industrial production engineer, who met Miyawaki while working at Toyota, the forest creation time is reduced to 10 years.
