A recent publication I found, by a British company, which has circulated online has revealed the first pictures of a 'smart condom' which is designed to collect very intimate data about the sex life of anyone who wears or uses it.

The Makers/Manufacturers

British Condoms is a company that have been producing and delivering condoms around the globe sinc 1999. The company annouced back in 2016, that they would go into the production of the unique and amazing technological "smart condom" device.

The spokesperson of the Nottingham-based manufacturing company, British Condoms, Aaron Slater, said:

“We knew we were on the cusp of creating something special with i.Con, and bringing a new meaning to "wearable tech".

“But being advocates of safe sex, we wanted something more, and the addition of an STI indicator has certainly done that. With over 96,000 pre-registrations for the product, we know that this is a complete game-changer.”

The stunning new scientific device is capable of assessing a user’s performance, calculate how many calories a user burns during sexual intercourse and also detect STI’s.

Pictures have been released by the creators of the world’s first ‘smart condom’; an amazing scientific and technological innovation which is considered to be a game-changer.

The device called “i.Con” is prized at a whopping $80. Further evaluation of the device shows that it isn’t exactly the conventional condom; “i.Con” is instead revealed through images that can be found online, to be a wearable ring-shaped device that can sit on the base of the male genitalia.

The technological concept, design and modus operandi of the i.Con, which has shown that it is a smart-phone connected device, has however raised concerns of its potential to be used as a spying device to monitor and invade a user’s intimate relations, despite its obvious health related benefits.

i.Con, the world’s first smart condom technological innovation is said to be in final stages of testing before it is later released for commercial adoption later this year.

Personal Thoughts

After reading lots of online articles about the device, some of which were sourced for this article, I dare say that i.Con being a game-changing tech device, would definitely revolutionize our sexual and bedroom moments, to say the least.

For guys out there; think of it – have you ever wanted;

  • to know the speed of your thrust?
  • to know the average velocity of each thrust?
  • to know the total number of thrusts during a session of your bedroom activity?
  • to know your body temperature when in the zone of passion?

Well, British Condoms say that the i.Con can give you all the answers you need. A trial would definitely convince any intending user.

Great spoof.

that's what I first thought too... I mean, even the name says "CON"... But the craziest part is that I think it may actually be a real product! lol

You really think so?

This device raises a number of privacy questions with the capability to store and share data. The ability to protect against sti is a positive. I don't know how comfortable or relaxing this would make the participants would achieve and it shifts the intention from true intimacy to performance, imho. Interesting technology. Good material!

I share your sentiments about it too. Level of comfort? Privacy concerns? Well, the company seem to believe that they have covered those areas. Thanks for dropping by @wandrnrose7

Reading this article made me actually think about womens challenges with getting pregnant and how this new technology might actually take some of it off women and focus on men. Maybe it was random, but I enjoyed reading about it. Thanks for sharing.

Yes, I agree with you @kubbyelizabeth. Women would generally heave a sigh of relief with his innovation. As they would just allow the men deal with the issues that abound from it. Thanks for visiting @kubbyelizabeth
