The Philadelphia Experiment

in #science6 years ago

Good First of all I want to tell my experience when I read about this experiment. At first I was impressed, raising the theory was possible as my little knowledge about the subject, but as I thought about it and I read something was wrong and what at first for me was curiosity and wonder became doubts and skepticism.

The experiment dates from 1943 during the Second World War, a US armored tested technology designed by Einstein himself and managed to become invisible and teleport. Experiment theory revolves around the "Rainbow Project" which according to legend He says that the military was testing a generator with electromagnetic fields trying to find practical to the unified field theory proposed by Albert Einstein applications. In a nutshell for people like me understand lol: intended to achieve invisibility. private technicians who knew what they were endowed by installing two powerful generators, tens of meters of electrical wire around the hull and other complex electronic devices to the USS Eldridge (name of ship), a battleship of 93 meters in length. On July 22, 1943 took place the first course experiment. Generators activated an electromagnetic field which took away the battleship of sight for a few minutes surrounded by a greenish fog. Some sailors complained of nausea caused by strong evidence.

When reading about the experiment for the first time, this was what caused me printing, think that really the ship disappeared for a few minutes plain sight is shocking.

The equipment was readjusted and on October 28 the second test took place. This time, the whole ship completely disappeared and appeared on the navy base in Norfolk, 600 kilometers away and 15 minutes in the past. There was sighted during that time. After that he disappeared again amid a blue Lightning to return to Philadelphia.

Here the experiment begins to have "flaws" in history as the "time travel" 15 minutes that made the boat to the past is not based nor scientifically justified under any law or theory.  According to statements of marine these were the results of the experiments  ... "The consequences of this second experiment were so devastating that the Navy crew decided to cancel the project. Most of the sailors developed schizophrenia and some completely lost the trial. Many were seriously injured to materialize and others, less fortunate, horribly merged with the hull. A few days after the experiment vanished and were never appear "...

At this point my mind gave a 180 ° thinking that maybe if I could be possible, perhaps because of such serious consequences that the project was canceled and was not repeated ever again (Although knowing the curiosity of the human being no matter how bad the results will always want to know more).

The Office of Naval Research Navy gave the following statements ... "The Office of Naval Research (ONR) has already explained that the use of force fields to make a ship and its crew are invisible does not conform to the known laws of physics. ONR also ensures that the unified field theory of Dr. Albert Einstein has never been completed. Between 1943 and 1944, Einstein worked as a part-time consultant for marine research in theoretical explosives and explosions. There is no evidence that Einstein has worked on anything related to invisibility or teleportation "...

HOW DID YOU HEAR ABOUT THE EXPERIMENT? Who he was behind the story?

It was all thanks to Carl Meredith Allen. Supposedly, Allen was a merchant seaman who saw the USS Eldridge disappears from your own boat, SS Andrew Furuseth. With a somewhat different lyrical and many misspellings, Allen described the course teleportation experiment in a letter to the writer and UFO researcher Morris Jessup. Although the Navy never provide any physical evidence of what he said, Jessup was fascinated by the story and included it in a book entitled The Case of UFOs (The Case for the UFO). Jessup failed to repeat the success of this book moderate and committed suicide four years later. The circumstances surrounding his death further fueled the theory that the experiment existed and that the government has since then trying to cover it up. The urban legend of the Philadelphia experiment was officially born.

Now despite such incredible story, as we know that was what really happened, as we know it was true? Which it was false? This is where the research instinct of human beings is activated, and seeks to find meaning and reason for everything, which is why the date and dates for the years of the experiment were searched and the following is find

Official records say the USS Eldridge was launched on July 25, 1943, two days after the alleged first experiment.

SOMETHING THAT WAS REAL IS THAT ... in the 40s, the US Navy was experimenting with invisibility. Obviously, it was not invisible to the naked eye. The USS Eldridge and its twin, the USS Engstrom had a new system that surrounded the entire hull with electric cables. The technique was called degaussing and its aim was to reduce the magnetic field of the ship to prevent this were an easy target magnetic mines and torpedoes used in Nazi submarines. The technique became popular in the 40s and came to be applied to military and civilian ships alike.

Some sailors in their ignorance and because of the limited capacity to understand what was happening with electromagnetic fields, radars and sonars said things like that ... "the ship became invisible" ... that could bring in part weight to the creation of the legend boat disappeared.

He "flash of lightning" which is spoken in over the Philadelphia experiment can be as simple as downloading ionized plasma long known as St. Elmo's fire

As for what is the craziest time travel 15 minutes we have the following explanation

The mysterious disappearance of the USS Eldridge, Dudgeon (a member of the sailors of the USS Eldridge) explains that the origin of this part is for an incident at the base of Norfolk. The Eldridge docked at the base for supplies, but quickly cast off and returned to Philadelphia, where he arrived in less than six hours. According to the charts of the area, this journey was impossible because he had to take a big detour to avoid German submarines and minefields. The ship actually used the Chesapeake & Delaware Canal; it is allowing skip the rodeo to the peninsula. Dudgeon explains that until his departure and a fellow by the back door during a tavern brawl encouraged rumors sailors of the USS Eldridge disappearing. Neither Edward Dudgeon nor his companion were drinking age bar, and when the fight broke out, the barmaid took them by the back door to avoid problems with the authorities. For many, the whole story of Dudgeon is the cover of a crazy experiment.

To complete the story of the USS Eldridge

On 15 January 1951, USS EldridgeIt was transferred to Greece Where he served under the name of Leon. The ship left the service in 1999, and ended his days peacefully in a junkyard (a cemetery of boats). Soon it served to mitigate the Philadelphia Experiment legend that a group of veterans of the USS Eldridge offered an interview in 1999 in which fun commenting on the story.

The most fanciful prefer to believe that the US Navy was able, in a delirious pseudoscientific combo, invisibility; teleportation and time travel, but decided not to proceed because some sailors died.

It is up to each who believe if it really happened or is just one more story
