We just discovered our neighbor that's been there from the beginning
It's simply a dwarf galaxy and has been hidden behind a cluster of stars.
This is the cluster of stars (within our milky way) that has been obscuring our cosmic neighbor all this time.
Because of its 13-billion-year-old age, and its isolation — which resulted in hardly any interaction with other galaxies — the dwarf is the astronomical equivalent of a living fossil from the early universe.

The astronomy posts you make are great! Thanks to them, I can scroll through my feed and learn something about the cosmos in between the memes and crypto-buzz. Glad I followed, keep them coming!
Glad you find them informative!
Well isn't that something. The complexities of the universe are too busy to understand. Thanks for sharing this.
