I believe we are on a flat earth and the sun, moon and stars are not very far away and all is contained with in the firmament. We have all the energy we need.

What will really fry scientists' brains is radiation from space... no, i mean, when scientists learn of all the different forms of energy that the earth is bathed in. Having to discard the simplistic, linear EM scale.
