How Bringing Scientific Papers to the Blockchain Will Advance Scientific Research: Orvium ICO

However, due to how information was recorded and received, including scientific studies, the first use of penicillin as a medicine occured 14 years later in 1942. What is Orvium?

Explained on their website, “Orvium is the first open-source and decentralized framework for managing scholarly publications’ life cycles and the associated data.” The decentralized framework allows scientific research to surface regardless of biases or private interests.
Once a scientific publication is submitted using the Orvium platform, it’s immediately available, time-stamped, and can be traced back to the source, giving the author(s) proof of ownership.
All of the activity associated with that publication will be recorded and managed in the blockchain, from licensing and copyrighting to revisions and peer reviews.
The Token
The ORV token helps establish a transparent business model to support research around the world. Authors are rewarded and recognized for their contributions using the token, and publications are made available at a low cost using smart contracts.
Current State of the Project
ICOmarks gives the Orvium ICO a 7.7 rating with an 8 for social activity due to the community they’re building around the project.
