An Introduction to Global Warming Without Sounding Preachy
The First Post of Many About Global Warming...
For the first time, sitting in the front row in fifth grade I read about air pollution and the theory on global warming. My first thought was, “Why isn’t anyone doing anything about this?”
At 25, I’ve read about the very same thing in college – global warming. Two words that I recall since fifth grade.
One of the things that I wanted to do after college was to decrease the amount of CO2 or greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. These greenhouse gases warm the earth, melting the icebergs and raising the sea level. Extra CO2 also causes ocean acidification, which wipes away minerals from the sea causing coral to degrade. Coral reefs are actually pretty important – they act as living spaces for a lot of marine life.
When I explain to a person this fact he or she reacts negatively – angry even – feeling his/her privileges like eating meat or driving are under attack.
“Who do these scientists think they are?”
Global warming awareness has nothing to do with you and everything to do with the system that we adopt. It’s true that having that awareness of global warming doesn’t help much until you do something about it. One of the ways in which people can actually change the system is to get together and work on a solution.

I also had a lot of it when I was younger and I was studying in high school. I remember that teachers always said that the greater responsibility of global warming was ours because we polluted the environment. Of course this is true, however, totaling everything that each person does, does not reach even 5% of what the industries do. The main issue is the production that industries cause to the environment.
To end this, it would be necessary to end the industrial production, but, ending it, how would we live ???? Everything we consume is made by them (industries).
The solution I see is some kind of industry that does less harm to the environment, but for that, you need to spend more money. It touches the interests of people with a lot of power.

I am very grateful to you @tanata for sharing such a fruitful post. I do agree with you that we hundred times learn about the global warming but we less think about it and try to safe our beautiful world.
