Fun Fact: Did you know our universe tastes like raspberries?

I know, I know it sounds totally bonkers, but it is a scientific fact!

Story Time...
You know scientists are always looking for the building blocks of life. Knowing where we come from is the biggest goal and challenge infront of our scientists. On such a journey, once upon a time, they decided to analyze a giant dust cloud present in the middle of our beautiful Milky Way Galaxy called Sagittarius B2, to look for complex molecules present there which are vital for life.

Source: "In the latest survey, astronomers sifted through thousands of signals from Sagittarius B2, a vast dust cloud at the centre of our galaxy. While they failed to find evidence for amino acids, they did find a substance called ethyl formate, the chemical responsible for the flavour of raspberries."

Other than the taste of raspberries it ethyl formate also smells mildly of rum. This compound has also been found in many other parts of the universe. How random is that! When I first read about this I was totally blown too.
