Ask for your freedom whenever you deem it. If you ask not for your freedom, the oppressor will never hand it over to you on a platter of gold. This was the quote that liberated America. Apply it in your everyday life and you would not have to be a slave.

To demand freedom from the oppressor, the oppressed should be educated. Education I believe is the most important key to attain freedom. Martin Luther King Jr was very educated and hence was able to organize movements for his people. Gandhiji is another example of an educated man who showed the way to millions of people via his writings.
The Oppressors always knew this and never allowed their people to study.
