Today is Sunday and always the most busiest day of my weeks, yet, I learn a lot. Today, I am always equipped in my spirit man to become whom God wants me to be.

I rarely blog on Sundays not because I lack what to write, rather, there is insufficient time for quality collation of information and editing. The choice of the word Quality is very personal as I often see a way of making each of my post an archive of knowledge, experience and as well a lesson for future readers.

Thank God for today, it was special, The Spirit of God woke me up earlier and dropped these lines am about to share in this post as I learnt during my morning devotion. Thank God that #ulog helps to break the blogging gap.

My Lesson Today: Don't Joke with Seemingly "Tiny" Habits

Still using my favourite devotional #dailyguide authored by @scripture-union. You can have a glimpse of today's massage here on the topic "EXPOSE SIN BEFORE IT SPREADS".

Bible Reading Leviticus 14: 33 - 57

The overview of the passage is God's message to the people of Israel, (now to every believer) that as they get into their Canaan where He (God) promised them, a plague of leprosy (according the the KJV) may break-out. He went on to tell the people what to do.

In my lay man's understanding of leprosy, the ailment has a high degree and ability to spread throughout the body and it is highly contagious. This is why such ailment must not be taken lightly. it may look as spotless as a little tiny spot at first, but when not well managed, gets to spread everywhere in a little time.

The emphasis of my message this morning is drawn from verse 44 and 45 of Leviticus 14:

then the priest shall come and look; and indeed if the plague has spread in the house, it is an active leprosy in the house. It is unclean. And he shall break down the house, its stones, its timber, and all the plaster of the house, and he shall carry them outside the city to an unclean place. - (KJV, emphasis mine)

I am careful to emphasize some lines of the verses in order to use in buttressing my points. Note that every one was created perfect in the image of God until sin crept in. Holman Christian Standard Bible calls the plague "contamination" which seems much realer in our context:

the priest must come and examine it. If the contamination has spread in the house, it is harmful mildew; the house is unclean. (Leviticus 14: 44, HCSB)

This shows that that sin has a tendency of spreading. That seemingly "little" bad habit has the tendency of spreading. That "uncomely" behaviour that has been condemned by tour parent and you refuse to take heed of has the tendency of crawling into your work life. That laziness that seems only to be seen in cleaning the house may be a part of other aspects of your life if not checked. What about procrastination, little lies (according to you), ... the list of the "tiny" bad habits seems countless. You can add them in the comment section so we learn together

Please pause and look inwards and pray for God to reveal those attitudes now!

In Galatians 5: 9, Paul wrote:

A little yeast makes the whole batch of dough rise! (NET Bible)

Yeah, a leaven leveaneth a whole lump. The seemingly little act of not being accountable for little things left in your care may result to gross corruption in the future if not checked. What are you doing about this? The "tiny" bad habit may seem unhurting, but it is growing into a full character in the future if it't not checked.

Here is What It will do If not Checked

Did you notice what God says should be done if the plague ("habit") is seen to spread around? Leviticus 14: 45,

It must be torn down, and all its stones, timbers, and plaster must be carried out of town to the place designated as ceremonially unclean. (NLT)

And he shall break down the house, its stones and timber and all the plaster of the house, and he shall carry them out of the city to an unclean place. (ESV)

He shall therefore tear down the house, its stones, and its timbers, and all the plaster of the house, and he shall take them outside the city to an unclean place. (NASB)

And they shall destroy it forthwith, and shall cast the stones and timber thereof, and all the dust without the town into an unclean place. (Douay-Rheims Bible)

Isn't it scary? God is recommending a breakdown, tear-down and utter destruction of the house. The stones, beams, pillars are to be brought down and thrown away into the dunghill.

The seemingly "tiny" bad habit is out to destroy your life, earnings, career, business and destiny at large. Don't let it. Rise up and take a step to curbing it. It is not too late until it is late. You can do something NOW.

What is the Way Out?

God had in His mercy and love pre-informed the people what is to be done, to prevent the plague (habit) from spreading round. Let's look at verse 35:

The owner of such a house must then go to the priest and say, 'It appears that my house has some kind of mildew.' (NLT)

then he who owns the house shall come and tell the priest, ‘There seems to me to be some case of disease in my house.’ (ESV)

then whoever owns the house must come and declare to the priest, 'Something like an infection is visible to me in the house.' (NET Bible)

then he who owns the house shall come and tell the priest, saying, 'There seems to me to be some sort of plague in the house.' (New Heart English Bible)

Did you notice my emphasis on those verses? It is the responsibility of the HOUSE OWNER to take the matter to the priest. It is time you look inwards to yourself and see the tiny bad habit and take the personal decision to make the difference. It's all vested on you. You have to speak out. Don't condone it, don't pamper it, speak out.

People may laugh at you, but it doesn't matter in a s much as you'll be successful after-all. People may see it as a scar, a dirt, but don't mind them. Forge ahead and dig on to meet with the Master as the woman with the issue of blood did. As @surpassinggoogle will say:

Don't let dirt stop you from digging

Shout louder. A closed mouth is a closed destiny. DOn't be quieted into the drain. Express your displeasure of the bad character so it can be changed. There is nothing God cannot help you to achieve.

My assignment on you this morning was a simple one.

. Look within and discover the tiny wrong attitude.
. Take the decision to make a change in the habit before it becomes a character.
. Don't cover the bad habit, expose it.
. Don't keep silent, Speak Out! and express your displeasure with it.

Don't forget, you were created perfect in the image of God. DOn't let the seemingly "tiny" bad habit ruin your life while you keep watch. You are not a failure!
