How to achieve self-control to establish balance between our sense of security and stability

in #self-controllast month

Have you noticed that more and more people are going to extremes these days? Either they choose to ignore what's going on and act like nothing has changed, or they get scared and "stop" life because they think it's pointless to plan or act if there is a war.

However, neither of these plans is less dangerous than what is happening now.

Right now there is too much news that makes people nervous. We'll still get calls from friends, coworkers, and other sources while we're away, it doesn't matter how well you block or how much you avoid TV and the internet.

To choose to ignore what is going on takes a lot of strength and courage. Stress and worry about the future are normal feelings that can't be "turned off." Getting them deep into your mind, where they will become invisible but poisonous, will take a lot of work. They will then infect you from the inside out.

On the other hand, if you give in to fear and hopelessness and live a life full of constant stress and anxiety, you will definitely end up with neuroses, depression, unstable feelings, and worsening health.

Now, more than ever, it's important to find balance because we feel like "the ground is disappearing from under our feet" all the time. It's important to normalise your situation and find or make supports inside yourself.

There needs to be a middle ground. When fear hits, you should accept it, connect with it, and stay in these feelings until you can let it go and move on. However, keep your emotions in check and don't let yourself sink. Fifteen minutes is enough time to let yourself feel a feeling fully.

After that, go back to simpler topics and think about everyday things and pleasures, like spending time with family and friends, eating a tasty meal, or watching an interesting TV show. Pay attention to them and let yourself feel this comfortable, happy joy.

At this point, the most important thing is for our species to stay alive. And the most important thing to remember is to know yourself, your goals, and what you can do. You shouldn't put too much stress on yourself when things are tough. To sum up, taking care of oneself is both possible and important.

If your feelings of guilt for happiness, helplessness, fear, or apathy are too much for you to handle, you should talk to a therapist. A big part of taking care of yourself is figuring out what you need and asking for help.
