Geri’s Game, A short animated film was released by Pixer when I was a toddler . When I started watching films as like a gourmet buffet I remember the summer vacation of 2015, it was a night when I got depressed from watching movies. Because when you watch that many at once you will fell the attention and concentration gradually decreases and the next movie however good it maybe it will feel kind of lost and out of depth. Like eating too many sweets , the next one will always taste less good.

So I did of many things to refresh my mind. I paused the marathon for almost a week. Did other things but in vacations you will always get bored. And then I found my other most appealing section of visual entertainment. Short animated films were very popular those days on Youtube. Every other short were great to watch. And then I found Geri’s Game.

It starts with an old men sitting in a park bench in late autumn afternoon. Trees are filled with dead colorful leaves. He has a Chess board open before him. He organizes the board with pieces. And then sits idle in the chair. It seemed he was waiting for someone. But no one seems to come. So he moves a piece one his own. Puts down his glasses , moves to the other side and makes a move against his own. He starts to play both sides of the chess board, he as his himself and his alter ego as his competition.

This is a feel good make believe (this word is used as a constructive complementary symbol) short film, an element common in many of Pixer’s other releases. Little details in human gesture, leaves are falling in a beautiful pattern, overly dramatized sounds etc. But however it maybe Pixers works will always inspire the viewers and motivate them into leading a good life for moments. So if you haven't already caught up with this you should. Your 5 minutes watching this film will not go to waste.
