Control a wideband shortwave radio in the Netherlands

Let me introduce you to the magical world of software defined radio. Now you can hunt the signal in the waterfall instead of just tuning around quasi-aimlessly.

The Amateur Radio Club of the University of Twente(ETGD) in Enschede,Netherlands offers the most advanced WebSDR on the interwebs,as they are the pioneer of this kind of radio since they launched theirs in 2008.It can be operated simultaneously by multiple users(around 500 at the moment this text is being written)who you can also chatt with.So choose your callname, chatt with people from around the world, logg in your stations ,set memories etc.At first it can be a little confusing to work the system but you can ask for help in the chattbox.
I would suggest familiarizing yourself with radio signals identification if you want to be able to tune the right mode https://www.hfunderground.com/wiki/Signal_Identification

The most powerful signals are always the broadcast stations and they are in AM mode but the most interesting stuff is found outside of the bands.Pirate stations, utilities airbands, millitary channels, number stations all of the good stuff! Those are always in sidebands mode either USB(upper side band)or LSB (lower side band)You also have the Amateur radio bands wich are always if LSB. My personnal favorite is to be on the lookout for the Pirate broadcast and they are in large number in the netherlands so you can have a very good signal. They can be found mostly between the 49M and 40M band a good place to start looking is the Frequency 6925.There are also MW outbanders pirate between the MW broadcast band and the 160M Amateur band.

Good Hunting ! http://websdr.ewi.utwente.nl:8901/[PirateRadio.jpg] [waterfall.jpg]![waterfall.jpg]
