in #silver6 years ago (edited)

So i got me a new Phone. The Samsung Galaxy S9+

My First thought was let's checkout the camera by taking a few shots of some coins.
The Only coins I have at hand right now are my 3 Handling coins.
The silver I hold and touch and love to hear the sound of knocking together.

I really did like these coins when i first started stacking
They meet all my criteria
The design changes every year and the mintage is capped.
They CGT free in uk and i liked the coin design but the premium is quite high on them.

Slowly as i gained more knowledge
The quality issues with the coins became more and more apparent.
Milkspots dinks and scratches etc and sometimes a finger print
But i was commited to the series or so i thought.
Until they brought out the rooster
which i really didn't like the design of... So i was out..
Then came the dog and i just laughed...........
So Glad I sold most of the ones I had bought
Pretty much everyone of them has some sort of issue
But after all it's only bullion and now i know it's not really worth that premium
As the quality is just not there.

They'll alway be worth there weight in silver though. and i don't know if anyone has 3 quite like these.
As normally you want to keep them in best condition you can.
So you can flip them down the road for a profit if you can, From their numismatic value.
Just way to many issues with the coins and that becomes a risk factor especailly the higher the premium you pay for bullion coins. The more risk there is imo.

It Don't Matter Now Though

Not one bit. Just look at them.

Warning!!!! If you handle coins they'll end up like these. Generally these are the only coins i handle. Unless i using gloves. or it's generic bullion.

I make sure I touch and hold these everyday, Do you?

I'd Like to see your coins you handle every day or carry about in you pocket
or
is it just me?

Yep, that Series was notorious for milk spots. Good read man. I did have a pocket piece, it was an 1884 Morgan that got worn so bad that you could barely tell it was a Morgan anymore. I lost it on a job site about a year ago. Haven’t yet picked another coin to replace it yet.🍺

I tend to leave these just by my pc. I have seen a few slick coins that been in peoples pockets on youtube. don't have a morgan as yet myself being in uk but i won a peace dollar few months ago. very nice..

I like Peace Dollars. They are the least collected silver dollar but i like them.

So many things to like...and so many ways to stack.
