Old Castle

Hi. My friend sent me a marvelous picture yesterday. Unfortunately I couldn't find an author, but this is a masterpiece, a really cool work and I wanted to redraw it for myself.

Process

First I started with the contour of this castle.

And then I added other lines. I guess it's very important to start with a simple pencil - that way you can correct your work.

There are not many details, so I started painting. I really enjoy of coloring.

As you can see I combine dark with light blue color: shadows and other stuff :)

Let's add some stones or the peaks of rocks, and a path in the foreground.

Then I took a green pencil and drew the grass. Looking at the original picture I tried to repeat shadows and lines to display relief.

Violet huge stone on the right and thick tall grass...

Do you see small dents and a green moss on the purple rock?

What about the sky?

I've really astonished how interesting was drawing the volume of cloud.

Thank you for everything! This work was like a travel. When I drew the castle I tried to imagine small rocks, walls, hills. And all in all I would like to go there if this castle exists in reality.
