This is America by Childish Gambino has become more than just a song, but a worldwide revolution. It was originally intended (to the best of my knowledge) to address several life threatening issues in America, which have long been suppressed by the thriving entertainment industry, especially gun violence.

The song however has inspired people all over the world to make their own versions and speak out on the irregularities in their various countries. Honestly, if Childish Gambino were to listen to some of those parodys, especially the one by Falz, a top Nigerian musician (This is Nigeria) he would understand that America still has it much better.

This is Nigeria by falz (which has hit several million views too) described in details, the innumerable harsh conditions that we live through here in Nigeria. The truth is bitter they say, no wonder the video has sparked up a lot of controversies, religiously and secularly. Some even went as far as threatening the musician with law suits to remove the video.

In all, I think this song has given us a platform to speak out for a change, and I'm grateful for that!
