I like the idea
But a treatment that cures cancer could be a long time in the making so the scientists will have to hope that the reward compensates for their time and money
Plus, only one person (or team) will actually win (maybe others can get consolation prizes from the community)
It bugs me when I see people with good intentions donate to the cookie cutter charities.
Where there's no incentive for them to actually be good at it.
I've seen a lot of NGOs like this over here. They've got plenty of American dollars in donations and luxurious cars and fancy workshops/outreaches to show for it
haha right, not surprising
and people will think stuff like this is an exception,,, like that meh maybe it happens sometimes but we can hope for the best,,, but really it's just like-- without any real incentive for them to do the charity work well and effectively-- this is just the inevitable way these big charities will evolve.. this is what the incentives dictate
