Are You Ready for some (video game) Football?!?!

Over the last two days I have been working in Orlando at the EA Sports Tiburon Campus to help launch the brand new Madden19 game. Our first day was simply a day to get all of our equipment set up and tested before the live launch that occurred last night.

With the NFL season upon us, there is no better time to launch the latest release for the most successful sports video game franchise in the history of gaming. Part of our equipment testing involves being able to properly capture and manipulate the live gameplay to make sure the EA bigwigs are pleased with the way we present their product to the masses via video. All of the camera, audio feeds etc are wired back to a make-shift control room we set up in one of their conference rooms.

In short, a few of us were able to do some 'beta-testing' of the new Madden while working to get everything set properly. Besides the three camera setup we had at the desk for the main host and analyst, there was a also a small camera positioned under the TV to capture the professional Madden players that were scheduled to appear.

I have never been very good at Madden, my brother was always much better. I actually haven't even played a Madden game in probably at least 10 years, they have just become so complicated. Not surprisingly, one of our other crew members whooped up on me when I sat down to play him.

However, for the live show we did have a couple professional Madden players to square off in a head-to-head battle for a live stream during the launch. If you happened to pre-order the Hall-of-Fame edition I believe you were able to download and start playing as early as Midnight last night. If not, I think it is releasing to the masses in just a few days on August 10.

The office there at EA Sports Tiburon was pretty impressive. I have to say that it would certainly be a nice environment to work in. They had some truly remarkable displays and other interesting themed setups all around the office, it got me excited for the coming NFL season.

Thanks bud. Yup, can't wait for all the fantasy drafts, pools and Redzone action on Sundays. I'll give myself an Over/Under of 15lbs gained this season from all the good football food consumed this season...lol

thanks @steemsports, I will check it out!

I gave you a vote just because, but I hate EA so much...

Most of their products are only meant to make money, and they pay so little attention to details... they are completely opposite to Blizzard Entertainment, for instance, a company that dedicates love and hard work to all they do...

Electronic Arts, on top of all, owns LEGIONS of companies-developers, but then again make it all generic with names like "EA Sports" or "EA Los Angeles"... terrible really...

This article is not an endorsement for EA, sorry you feel that way. Just documenting some behind the scenes action

Good to hear that! I hated when Westwood Studios was taken over, for instance. :(
