There are feel things we take for granted in our social interactions with people. We assume that we see the world in roughly the same way, that we all know certain basic facts i.e. words that mean the same thing as they do to me. We assume that we have pretty similar ideas of right and wrong. To some people things are very different. These people lack remorse and empathy and feel only emotional shallowly. In extreme cases, they might not care whether you
live or die. These people are called psychopaths.
DEFINITION
A person suffering from a chronic mental disorder with abnormal or violent social behavior. Further definition of psychopathy is a constellation of traits that comprises affective characteristics interpersonal characteristics, as well as impulsive and anti social behaviors. The effective characteristics include lack of guilt, empathy and deep emotional attachments to others; the interpersonal characteristics includes self-centeredness and superficial charm; and the impulsive and antisocial behaviors includes dishonesty, manipulativeness and reckless risk taking. Although psychopathy is a risk factor for physical aggression, it is by no means synonymous to it. Psychopathic individuals individuals are found at elevated rate in prisons and jails but can be found in community settings as well.
Professor Robert Hare is a criminal psychologist, and the creator of PCL-R, a psychological assignment used to determine whether someone is a psychopath. For decades he has studied people with psychopathy; “it turns me as much as I started it 40 years ago, that it is possible to have people who are so emotionally disconnected that they can function as if other people are objects to be manipulated and destroyed without concern” he says.

PSYCHOPATHY AND PROFESSIONS
Most of the professions on the right require human connection, dealing with feelings and most of them don’t offer much power. Psychopaths, by their very nature, would not be drawn to be very good at these things. On thre other hand, most of the roles on the lift do offer power and many acquire an ability to make objective, clinical decisions, divorced from feelings. Psychopaths would be drawn to these roles and thrive there.
Kelvin Dutton explains that there are jobs that can attract literal psychopaths and also jobs that are list likely to do so. This may explain why many of the jobs attractive to psychopaths, such as CEO’s, sales person are often found in the tech industry.

NOTE: Psychopathy is also sometimes known as psychopathic personality disorder and is considered a mental illness. As with mental illness in general, there is no cure for it and treatment of adult psychopath has been shown in effective. However, treatment of children with psychopathic traits has shown some promise.
