Halloween or Christmas : Am I Confused
Two days ago it was all about Halloween and today i walk into the local shopping centre to be met with a sight like this.
This seems absolutely crazy that one thing follows another constantly. No sooner is Christmas and the New Year over than Easter Eggs are in the shops.
When i was a kid many moons ago we never even celebrated Halloween or even knew much about it. After your summer holiday it was all about collecting wood (chumping) for Bonfire night. Plus the 4th of November known as mischievous night.
Christmas and the build up started about 2 weeks before the 25th when you would trim up the house. Now people have Christmas trees up in November. Is it just commercialism or am i missing something?
Christmas today is nothing like it was for us. We got 1 descent present an apple an orange and some new pennies. Today kids seem to get the whole store for Christmas. With families massively in debt.. No debt in our day.. if you didn't have it you couldn't spend it
Anyway the centre looks nice trimmed up and i guess it gets the kids excited for Christmas.
Yes its total commercialism it never seems to stop.
