30 Day Summer Song Challenge: Day 13
A song you like from the 70’s.
Oh My Goodness!!!
This song challenge is taking awhile isn’t it? (Maybe because I only post about it once a week or so....🤔)There were a lot of different directions I could have gone with today’s theme, but in the end I’ve chosen to go to a galaxy far, far away. 😍
It was 1977 when Star Wars was released and with the film came the beautiful music composed by John Williams. Williams is one of the most prolific composers of the late 20th/early 21st centuries having written the music for numerous television programs, cultural events, stage productions and over 100 films. He also served as conductor of the Boston Pops for 14 years.
Star Wars was the very first movie I saw in the theater... A drive-in theater! I was three and I still remember little pieces of that night. Like most kids of the 70’s and 80’s I would watch the film (plus sequels and prequels) over and over and over again. Everytime the first notes of the main Star Wars song blares out in the darkness of the cinema I can’t help but smile.
PS - When I got married this was the song played to accompany our walk up the aisle at the end of the ceremony. 😄 #starwarsnerd4eva
