Mozart in one minute! | Theme from Symphony No. 40 (Great G minor)

in #sonicgroove5 years ago (edited)

Hello Steemians! This is a short piano arrangement of Mozart's great G minor symphony by Faber and Faber. It is published in the AMEB Piano for Leisure Grade 3 (Series 3) book. The AMEB (Australian Music Examinations Board) is the primary examination system for music, speech and drama in Australia. I myself progressed through the AMEB examination system in piano, violin and organ. Whilst AMEB isn't the only examination board around (e.g. ABRSM, Trinity, St. Cecilia, LCM), it is the most accessible due to frequency of examination sessions.

The current piano examination system is divided into several streams:

  1. Piano (Comprehensive) - the 'traditional' exam which includes scales, pieces, sight reading, aural perception and general knowledge.
  2. Piano (Collaborative) - a newly introduced stream which is like the above but pieces are to be presented with another instrumentalist.
  3. Piano (Repertoire) - a newly introduced stream that focuses only on solo repertoire—no additional tests.
  4. Piano for Leisure - a popular exam format with fewer requirements (but of the same standard) with modern/popular repertoire choices. This is suited to busy students!

Grades (levels) are from Preliminary to Grade 8, then Certificate of Performance and the Diplomas (AMusA and LMusA).

During my student years, there was only one stream which is known as the Comprehensive syllabus now.

I recorded this work because it is a piece one of my students is learning. He is progressing well and he is looking forward to playing it molto allegro!

PS. I added some artificial reverb, post-processing of this video as my studio has a very dry acoustic!
