Near Earth Asteroid

A newly discovered asteroid dubbed 2018 CB will fly past the earth at about 39,000 miles. This is less than one-fifth the distance between the earth and the moon.
The asteroid is estimated to be between 50 to 130 feet in diameter. They expect the asteroid to pass safely about 5:30 pm EST on Friday. Another asteroid, 2018 CC passed the earth on Tuesday. It was around 114,000 away from earth.
Astronomers at the NASA funded Catalina Sky Survey near Tucson, AZ discovered the asteroids. Any object that come closer than 4,650,000 miles from earth are classified by NASA as a 'near earth object'. The Center for Near Earth Object Studies advise that 13 other close approaches are set to take place this month and five more in March.
