RE: Space Junk: It's Much Worse Than You Think | Answers With Joe

in #spacejunk6 years ago

SpaceX decided to not use explosives to stage separation (because its' too unpredictable), but the side effect of using only hydraulics is... that they do not produce new space junk which will orbit of the Earth...

... but they are actually pioneers in sending "junk" to orbit of the sun and some day this will cause a situation like that (watch from ~2:30 ) :D

Ok, That's a Kewl video, but I have to do a little disagree here... Yes, Space Junk is a problem that needs to be address.. but I hardly believe there would not be some kind of decent deflection shielding in place by then to take care of those little annoyances.. Another has suggested shooting it to the sun, or bring it back to earth... both ideas sound silly to me... What really needs done, is a collection ship, that collects what it finds out in space, and recycles/repurposes it instead of wasting lots of easily used natural resources.. I believe the first one to build a recycling plant in space is going to be rich.. I'm thinking about it.. maybe I"ll be first.. anyone interested in joining the project???
