A few days ago I received an invitation from my dear friend @abigail-dantes, this invitation is to belong to the community of SteemSTEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) also talks about medical and health issues, gladly enter Discord to see what it was about, well, let me tell you, there are many brilliant minds in that community, so much so that I question myself, thinking for a moment that I did not think I could fit in here.

I could read the professional potential of many people and well I told myself that I could also contribute my knowledge in certain areas that I know, since I like to publish things from my environment and happen daily, as well as art (drawing) and technology, in the development of products with polymeric resins, I decided to start and debut in this community with this theme.


FLATFOOT

What is the flatfoot?

It is a deformity of very slow evolution. If treated properly and on time, it does not mean significant disability. But to get the flatfoot to evolve favorably and avoid having consequences on other segments of the lower limbs, requires accurate diagnosis, medical treatment and also, perseverance and patience.

A specialist doctor facilitates the diagnosis, but it is the parents and relatives who make the treatment. Generally the treatment requires orthopedic footwear, with the appropriate recommendations by the specialist. This way it is possible to take advantage of the adequate growth of the foot, to model it slowly. As is logical, the results are appreciated after a certain time of exercises and the use of footwear.
It is necessary to go for periods to the doctor, regularly every three months.

It is important to comply with the treatment faithfully with the exercises and always keep the shoes in perfect condition. Of course it is possible that it is considered at a certain moment, that a new medical control is necessary: do not think twice and immediately schedule a consultation.

This care is essential for the success of the treatment, just as it is fundamental that the exercises that are advised below, be carried out with constancy with the help of the parents and relatives of the infant.


Exercise to increase the arch of the foot, moving the fingers.

Open and close the toes, separating them always, so that the tendency is to increase the arch of the foot. Lower your fingers first to the maximum possible and fold them upwards as shown in figure 1 and 2.

Exercise with a ball.

With your toes, try to grab a ball as illustrated in figure 3, take it, lift it, let it fall again. Repeat the exercise several times in a row.

Exercise for the middle part of the foot.

Using a roller of any material or bottle, move the foot on the roller so that it advances and backs down by pressing on the foot. As seen in figure 4 and 5.

Tiptoe exercise.

Walk around the room with the tips of your feet, until you feel symptoms of fatigue. Observe figure 6.

Exercise with the outer edge of the feet.

Continue with this exercise like the previous one, walking with the outer edge of the feet as indicated in figure 7.

Exercise Punta, External Edge, Heel.

Stand up with the tips of your feet, let yourself fall slowly until you park on the outer edges of your feet raising your fingers, follow the movement until you park on your heels, repeat this exercise several times until you feel tired, do not rest the sole of the feet on the ground. Figure 8, 9 y 10.

These exercises should be done upon awakening and before sleep.
The maximum duration should be 15 minutes, if you feel the sensation of cramping, you should rest briefly and change your exercise.
