Especially, if you know the stories and legends of some streets, you can feel the ghosts of Dostoevsky's heroes from his famous novel "Crime and punishment" : the place on the square where the main character Rodion Raskolnikov in his head crept the idea of killing an old woman-usurer; or the house near the ascension bridge, where Sonechka Marmeladova lived. Or you can still see the shadow of A. S. Pushkin, who goes to the confectionery wolf and Beranger on Nevsky Prospekt, where on the day of the duel, he met with his cornerman K. K. Danzas.
