Tutorial de como hacer musica trap en vivo en FL Studio/ Producin Trap live in FL STUDIO

Im producing a dark ambient trap music soundtrack album at the momento and In this post Im sharing some of the techniques Im using, Im showing you how to produce a track in a digital audio workstation live on the FL STUDIO software. It means that you dont have to program the patterns in order but you do it live. This way you can obtain a more organic sound. You can also use this technique to play live in a concert in front of an audience and also it gives you a more freedom to play with textures, synthetizers and also of course improvisation.

En este momento estoy produciendo un album de banda sonora al estilo de la musica trapcon toques oscuros y en esta publicación comparto algunas de las técnicas que estoy usando, te estoy mostrando cómo producir una pista en un software FL STUDIO en vivo.
Significa que no tienes que programar los patrones en orden, sino que lo haces en vivo. De esta manera puede obtener un sonido más orgánico. También puedes usar esta técnica para tocar en vivo en un concierto frente a una audiencia y otra ventaja es que te da más libertad para tocar con texturas, sintetizadores y, por supuesto lo mejor es la improvisación que te permite.

First of all you have to choose the sounds you want to use. In this case Im gonna use some random samples that I find they go well together. Because this is the key part of this process...they have to soundvery well combined, just try many options tosee how they fit together. Dont hesitate to experiment between different styles of music. For example you can use a Dubstep sample for a trap song if they go well together dont be afraid to get outside of your confort zone because this original mixes are gonna give your music an original sound that nobody has, its your personal touch.

For example I love ambiental music ( also known as "ambient" ), and also I love hip hop / trap and Im in fact producing an album at the moment. Im gonna use for the melody a really deep sound like an atmospheric soundtrack for a movie, and Im gonna use for the notes the Phrigian scale to give a haunting vibe to the track. Im gonna use the "SAWER" virtual instrument and the preset Im gonna use is "Redundancy"

En primer lugar, debe elegir los sonidos que desea usar. En este caso, usaré algunas muestras que creo que van bien juntas. No dudes en experimentar entre diferentes estilos de música. Por ejemplo, puedes usar una muestra de Dubstep para una canción trap si van bien juntas, no temas salir de tu zona de confort porque estas mezclas originales le darán a tu música un sonido original que nadie tiene, y este puede ser tu toque personal que te diferenciaran de los demas productores.
Por ejemplo en este caso a mi me encanta la música ambiental (también conocida como "ambient"), y también me encanta el hip hop / trap y de hecho estoy produciendo este álbum. Usaré para la melodía un sonido realmente profundo como una banda sonora atmosférica para una película, y usaré esas notas de la escala de Phrigian para darle un ambiente inquietante a la pista. Usaré el instrumento virtual "SAWER" y el valor predeterminado que usaré es "Redundancy"

After you do this you can program the drum patterns. In this moment you have to choose the speed on BPM ( beats per minute ) in this example Im gonna use 130 BPM.

Despues de hacer esto puedes empezar a programar el patron de la bateria. En este caso puse la velocidad de 130 beats por minuto.

In this stage for a average track you must program the drum pattern with three basic sounds. One is the "kick", the snare, the hi hats, and the clap to give a punch. In this example I didnt use clap.

Generalmente la pista de este estilo tiene algunos elementos como Kick o sea el bombo, la caja y los platillos. Puedes optar por usar aplausos para darle fuerza a la caja.

After that one of the most important things is the bass, that its the core of the whole song. For this type of music you Im gonna use a very low bass with a little distortion.

Despues lo esencial es la linea de bajo que es la raiz de toda la pista. En este caso usare un bajo algo distorsionado.

After you made the melody , the bassline and the drum pattern is time for recording.

You can use a lot of programs to record your sessions I recommend "Audacity" or "Adobe audition" that are the most popular in the industry as far as I know.

Para grabar la pista usare Audacity pero puedes usar Adobe audition que son los mas populares.

Press record and press play afterwards and you can begin by clickin on the little circle that is in the left of the sound until it turns green, it means the the sound is activated as you can see in the image .

Para grabar primero dale play al programa de grabacion y vuelve al software de produccion luego con el click activas el sonido de la pista como indica la imagen.

Now for a regular song me first thing that enters is the melody, after a few bars press the hi-hats , then go with the clap and the snare. This is known as the built-up you are introducing the whole vibe of the track. Remember every track is a story, an experience, so it has to have movement.

You can add some variation , in this example I put two types of hi-hats.

Puedes poner variaciones , en este ejemplo le puse dos tipos de platillos.

When the bassline comes up , you can left with that a few bars and then start fading away the sounds.

Cuando la linea de bajo entra, puedes dejar unos cuantos compaces hasta que se vaya disminuyendo el volumen.

Until you are left with the melody again.

This technique is useful for live performances. In case you want to improvise some vocals you can left the drum patterns only or if you want the rtack to go longer leave the melody alone and play with the different effects like LFO, reberve, echos, mapping , etc.

For videos Im using Camtasia Studio. I love this software for making videos because its really user friendly.
