La primera película de la historia del cine fue realizada por los hermanos Lumière, quienes el 28 de diciembre de 1895 proyectaron la película en la cual se  veía a unos obreros salir de una fábrica francesa de Lyon, la demolición de un muro, la llegada de un tren y la salida de un barco del puerto. Eran grabaciones breves de la vida cotidiana, sin actores.

(  The first film in the history of cinema was made by the Lumière brothers, who on 28 December 1895 projected the film in which workers were seen leaving a French factory in Lyon, the demolition of a wall, the arrival of a train and the departure of a ship from the port.  La primera película se proyectó en el “Salón Indien” del Grand Gafé, en el Boulevard des Capucines, en París. El éxito de esta película fue instantáneo no sólo en Francia, sino también en Europa y América del Norte, por lo que en un año los hermanos Lumière crearon más de 500 películas más. ( The first film was screened at the "Salón Indien" of the Grand Gafé, on Boulevard des Capucines, in Paris.
