Cougars inhabit forests, mountainous areas and lowland across the entire American continent. Under the premise that its chosen territory offers enough prey and cover, the cougar often cultivates lifelong loyalty to it while earmarking its boundaries with urine and droppings. Cougars' fur color is mostly silvery brown and they travel up to 30 kilometers per day. As reclusive nocturnal animals that move silently and hide themselves expertly, cougars have no problem knocking out animals that are bigger than themselves. A such, deer and elks are the cougar's favorite prey, humans however are very rarely suffering from cougar attacks. During mating season male and female cougar join to travel and sleep together, yet the male normally leaves before the female gives birth to several cubs. Child-rearing is exclusively mother's business whereby the cubs are under the mother's dedicated tutelage for up to two years. Even though cougars don't have natural predators they occassionally do get entangled in conflicts with grey wolves and grizzly bears competing with them for resources. As so often, humans are their biggest threat, not necessarily due to poaching but the erosion of their territory and the depletion of natural prey. Their average lifespan in the wild is 8-13 years, only a few become older than 20 years.

Spiritually light aspects:

Cougars endow us with increased practicality and self-care. They teach us to not waste our energy on futile conversations but to skip the word and let actions speak instead. Everyone can talk, yet the large majority doesn't walk their talk. Only by shifting from word to deed our aura will radiate more authenticity and assertiveness, which is the only way to not relapse into self-justification in the attempt to please everybody. Accordingly, we learn to set clear boundaries without allowing wishy-washy dither into our energetic space, while the cougar sallies out to deliver the substantiating information and insight we need to responsibly own our choice. Cougars advise us to embrace our alone time because it is here that we are most able to learn about personal energy managment and to come to terms with ourselves, which is imperative, for ultimately it is our very own Soul with which we each need to hang around with for eternity. People with the cougar as their spirit animal have naturally high stamina enabling them to miraculously surpass themselves.

Spiritually dark aspects:

Cougars' extremely solitary nature makes them potentially lose touch with the world's on-goings. With the cougar as the spirit animal people like to isolate themselves from humanity because they have a hard time finding any common ground. Cougars' perspectives are not rarely greeted with incredulity so that touching base with them can quickly lead to misunderstandings. Since the cougar prefers skipping the talk it tendentially has some deficites in eloquence that only worsens its unintelligibility, which is why they in all likelihood won't deign to answer to begin with to not unnecessarily squander their energy.
