RE: Learning to dance with Unknowingness

in #spirituality5 years ago

Thank you for writing this. It really resonates with me a great deal. As a digital nomad, I am constantly meeting people that have liberated themselves from the pernicious effects of the ever vilified 9-5 only to create another prison of their making: conscious productivity. I meet people who humblebrag about their iron-clad adherence to daily yoga, meditation, vegan eating and whatever else that helps them feel more grounded. Though I have no bone to pick with any of these practices, it is more the cultivation of a culture of routines. Ultimately it makes little difference whether your routine is a morning commute to the office or a one-hour meditation session if you must 'will' yourself to do it. I love what you said about how letting go of the ego-driven need for routine opens the door to the synchronicity that dwells in the present moment.

Great words, you expressed that very well, thanks.

When it comes to spiritual practises, compliance with schedules is actually exactly counteractive to these practises, not only because of the stress factor that naturally comes along with that attitude but also because we treat the entire practise like a to-do list. Many people these days are practising yoga or meditation without truly understanding the actual essence of these practises. I guess many just follow certain trends that are "hip" without even considering the emotional, mental and spiritual work.
