"Good" Thoughts aren't Always Good

As we become more aware of God's voice in our life, we can also grow as spiritual warriors in Christ.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. (Ephesians 6:12)

Spiritual warriorship is about battle on a spiritual level against the spiritual foe. Most people are naive to how concealed this foe really is.

I am constantly shocked and surprised by how many thoughts actually come from the fallen spiritual realm. What some may think as a helpful "part of us", may NOT actually be a thought coming from our soul/spirit.

Even 'good' thoughts can keep our soul oppressed if we automatically accept them as parts of us without discernment.

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare [are] not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; (2 Corinthians 10:3-5)

Everyone hears the "still, small voice" of God but everyone also hears from the spiritual realm of entities rebellious to our Creator. These deceptive entities keep our spirit from living in God's Truth, from ever finding a personal relationship with God or from walking with Christ. This is why the world will never have peace or harmony in the current age, even it all people magically became 'good', develop psychic powers or became 'enlightened'. None of those things actually gives us the power to really 'see' from the perspective of our omniscient Creator. We don't always see our sin, let alone turn back from them. We cannot see what entities oppress/possess us unless the Holy Spirit reveals them.

Being able to truly discern between thoughts originating from ourselves and thoughts coming from other entities ONLY comes from the Holy Spirit, who speaks only of God, our Father and Jesus Christ. If we listen to 'spirit guides', 'ascended beings' or spiritual 'gurus', we only harm ourselves and further the agenda of Satan because ultimately, they are part of the system keeping us from God.

The fallen spiritual world wants to prevent all children of God from doing any damage to their kingdom. Unfortunately, most children of God seem to be sleeping or comatose. We help this fallen realm by living from our carnal nature and hindering the Holy Spirit from cleaning our soul/spirit or renewing our mind to become more like Christ's.

Jesus could perfectly discern which spirit a person was talking from. He cast out demons with a word, healed illnesses from afar and raised people from the dead. We will not be as perfectly discerning as the Son of God but we can grow in discernment -- only if we allow the Holy Spirit to help us!

Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work. (2 Timothy 2:1)

Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Thessalonians 5:23)
