The boogieman of Mixed Martial Arts

Good evening y'all! This is our second article about UFC and its fighters, I hope you'll enjoy the story about Tony 'El Cucuy' Ferguson. ☺

For those of you who don't know, Tony 'El Cucuy' Ferguson is a former UFC interim champion and current #1 contender in the UFC lightweight divison. He has an impressive 11 fight win streak and is an absolute nightmare for every opponent. Although he wasn't beaten inside the octagon, UFC decided to take Tony's belt away after an knee injury that he got right before he was supposed to fight Khabib. To make things more bizzare, Tony injured himself while completing pre-fight media obligations when he tripped over some cables and tore his ligament in knee just few days before the fight. After that, UFC tried to save the fight and gave Khabib new opponent who's name was Al Iaquinta. This two guys fought for lightweight title while Tony was stripped off his belt.

Amazing comeback performance

Tony was back inside the octagon just six months after this serious injury and was now fighting Anthony Pettis in co-main event of UFC 229 (Khabib vs McGregor). It's just crazy how he managed to recover in such a short period of time because most doctors have said that he shouldn't even train for at least 6-9 months. Tony Ferguson actually never took physical therapy and was healing himself on his own. When the fight started, Pettis immediately throw a kick into Ferguson's injured leg and it looked like 'El Cucuy' is slightly limping. Nevertheless, Tony just kept going and put pressure on Pettis like nothing happened. Tony obivously won the first round and things seemed under control until Pettis landed a big strike at a beginning of round 2. Ferguson was all over the place and was saving himself from getting KO'd. In all that rush Ferguson has succesfully landed a ferocious elbow that opened Anthony's head. After this crazy pace, Pettis was exhausted and fight was going in only one direction. Ferguson was all over Pettis who was just trying to escape this crazy pressure. The rest 3 mintues of the round were literally a bloodbath and at the end Pettis broke his hand and had to give up the fight. Just another day in the office for Tony and another treat for MMA fans... Legend about 'El Cucuy'

El Cucuy is Mexican legend about mythical creature that hides itself in the shadows of your room or closet. This monster will attack you in the middle of the night when you're the most vulnerable. Many parents are still scaring their kids with this story: "Be aware, if you don't behave - El Cucuy is going to get you". This nickname perfectly describes Tony Ferguson and his fighting style. The boogeyman of MMA has no specific style and he's incredibly unpredictable.

Fight against Khabib Nurmagomedov

Tony and Khabib just can't get each other into the octagon as UFC has failed three times to make this fight. Khabib is the current champion in lightweight divison and Tony is #1 contender, they both have 11 fights win streak and are just step away from hitting top 5 longest win streaks in history of UFC. We all know that this fight has to happen and probably Dana White knows it too. Both fighters were extremely dominant in their last few performances, both fighters put extreme pressure on their opponents and both fighters have unreal conditioning. For sure we're looking forward to this new 'fight of the decade' in UFC.
