The England national team officially appointed Harry Kane as captain for the upcoming 2018 World Cup.
The Tottenham Hotspur bomber was one of the favorites wearing the captain's armband after being trusted several times by the manager Gareth Southgate.
Kane was elected by outclassing Liverpool and Chelsea, Jordan Henderson and Gary Cahill, each already well versed in the post as captain at club level.

"Harry [Kane] has exceptional personal qualities, he is a meticulous professional figure and what is important for a captain is to be able to set standards every day," explains Southgate.
"He has faith and high standards, it becomes a great message for the team to have a captain who shows that there is likely to be one of the best in the world during his consistent period and that is his impulse.
"Harry will need the support of the other good leaders around him, you will not be a top team with only a captain with good grades, it should spread to the whole team, but I think he is the most prepared to take on the challenge.
Kane, who will be playing his first World Cup, has scored 12 goals from 23 appearances with England.
