Sri Lanka v/s England ODI Series Preview
Good Afternoon friends, its a first ODI today between England and Sri Lanka in 5 ODI match series. its a very Important series for Sri Lanka because they are not performing well since many times and they want to prepare their team for upcoming World Cup next Year in England, besides England is a very strong team and Strongest contender for winning World Cup so its great to see how both perform.
Sri Lanka who is home team but they are struggling a lot since Mahela Jayawardene and Kumar Sangakkara because they were their main players but now Sri Lanka not able to perform well without them and thus they also lost against Afghanistan and Bangladesh in Asia Cup too. due to a loss in Asia Cup, Angelo Mathews also removed from captaincy and this series too so now they are in more trouble in this series because he is one of good player of their team who mostly performs well in middle over. Sri Lanka Recently Played against South Africa at home but they also lost against them who also struggling to stand up.
as Chandimal back into the team, Captaincy hand over to him as Angelo Mathews not in Squad for this series. Chandimal is also a good captain as he did captaincy before too but was ban due to including in ball tampering. Sri Lanka has an issue with batting as Tharanga, Dickwella and Perera who are top order batsmen not performed well since few matches but now with Chandimal their top order and middle order is looking strong with three all-rounders Dasun Shanaka, De Silva and Thisara Perera. Lasith Malinga also comes back in Squad so their bowling line up becomes more strong. they have good spinners like Akila Dhananjaya and Sandakan and Most of the sub-continental pitch useful for spinners so they can give chance to both spinners which will more effective against English batsmen because out of Asian team always struggle for playing against spin bowling.
England is recently played against India and beat them in ODI so their confidence is so high because they beat India who is also one of the strongest team but it was in England. Sri Lanka is a different place where the pitch has not much bounce and swing like in England so they have to change their game as the pitch will be much slower. England has much better batsmen then Sri Lanka as their batting line up is the strongest in all.
They have Jason Roy, Alex Hales and Bairstow for Opening who are attacking batsmen than in middle order Root, Morgan and Stokes and Buttler. all are in their team are hard hitter batsmen. their bowling line up is little weak as no such an experience good bowler but woakes and wood can be effective if the pitch will help to fast bowlers, also need to see how both Curran brothers perform if they get chance but I think England also give a place 2 spinners in their team as Adil Rashid and Moeen Ali because Moeen Ali is always wicket taking bowler for England.
Pitch will be slow as we seen in past matches in Sri Lanka so I do not think it will be a high scoring match. both teams will give more chances to Spinners as it will more effective which we also seen in previous matches. for first ODI England is favorite but this is game of cricket as we cant say anything because that team will win who perform well that day so by some of the previous matches and current form, England has more chances so let see who will win first ODI and how Sri Lanka Perform.
