Shooting continued to bring cheer to the Indian camp at the Asian Games as 15-year old Shardul Vihan showed nerves of steel to win the silver medal in the men’s double trap event.

Vihan led the qualification field with a score of 141 and kept the good work going in the final, staying in the top two positions throughout.
He though lost out on the gold medal to South Korea’s Shin Hyunwoo in a closely fought final round.
Vihan, a student of class 9, is the third teenage shooter from India to grab a medal at these Games. 19-year old Lakshay Sheroan won silver in the men’s trap event while 16-year old Saurabh Chaudhary won a gold in the men’s 10m air pistol event.
Vihan had produced a sensational performance as he won four gold on a single day in the 61st National Shooting Championship in November last year, beating then-world number one double trapper Ankur Mittal 78-76 in the men’s final.
