NBA - Celtics win Game 5 to knock 76ers out of the Playoffs

The Boston Celtics prevailed today at the Boston Garden beating Philly in game 5 of the best of 7 series to move on to the Eastern Conference finals and a date with Lebron James and the Cavs. The game sea sawed late in the 4th quarter with both teams holding leads and had chances to win the game until the Celtics held there nerve late to finish up the series.

This series showcased two of the best rookies to land in the NBA in a number of years with probable Rookie of the Year Ben Simmons for 76ers and future star Jayson Tatum for the Celtics, both had big games today with Tatum taking the owners for the game and the series putting up 25 Points. Simmons had a solid game 5 but the genius of Celtics coach Brad Stevens was there for all to see the entire series, he matched up a number of different players on Big Ben throughout and he simply wasnt effective as he had been in the regular season.

The 76ers with Embiid and Simmons will see this as a wasted chance to make it to the Conference finals so young in there careers, the dagger game was losing game 3 at home in Philly when they held a sizeable lead. They will be confident that they can bounce back from this and everything points to them being back in the playoffs next year. The Celtics move on to a match up with Lebron and the Cavs, this is a matchup i see as being too much for there injury riddled team, but Brad Stevens has proved in this series that anyone is beatable.
