The spectacular South African wicketkeeper Andries Gous has stated that he will be willing to play for the co-hosts USA bearing in mind his impressive 2024 ILT presenter season, hoping of playing a role towards June upcoming T20 World Cup.

Despite having previously represented South Africa’s Under-19 team in 2013, and playing domestically for Free State and the Knights, Gous made a major career transition in late 2021 by moving to USA with his family. The reason behind his decision was the long-term contract he sealed with ACE, which is an organization that runs Major League Cricket.

Gous, who is due to qualify for the USA national team in April, considers T20 World Cup a dream chance not only of getting an opportunity to play international cricket but also competing against some of the finest players across all corners. The USA, as joint hosts with West Indies in the tournament are readied to face brilliant opponents of Group A namely India Pakistan Ireland and Canada.

Thinking of donning his US colors, Gous was heavily excited showing how desperate he would have been if offered the opportunity to play for them. His recent excellent performances in Major League Cricket, which include scoring an unbeaten 95 off 50 balls to guide Abu Dhabi Knight Riders to victory are some solid reasons for picking him for the national team.

Gous is listed among other big players who include Corey Anderson, a former New Zealand international and current member of the USA national team playing in T20 World Cup Anderson will not lose sight of his current assignments but the prospect of becoming a world ambassador for USA team brings an additional element and sensationalism to this upcoming championship.
