Philippine Sports : Magnolia Hotshots win in game 2 PBA Finals
Magnolia Hotshots once again win against Alaska Aces on their PBA final series. Magnolia really plays extraordinarily than they have done during the past elimination rounds. They only ranked 4th during the elimination round and was able to defeat the top contender for PBA finals the Barangay Ginebra. Many did not believe that they will able to defeat Barangay Ginebra but it seems Magnolia Hotshots really been playing extra effort during the semi-finals and also in finals. Now, that Magnolia Hotshots won the second game, they only need two more to be able to obtain the championship that they are longing for.
During their game, Magnolia Hotshots has several opportunities to make points but most of it was unsuccessful until Mike Harris made a successful driving layup. After that Romeo Travis starts working more perfectly on his offensive side and that he was able to put 6 points at the end of the first quarter. While on the Alaska Aces side, Mike Harris mostly working on his offensive drives and Chris Banchero concentrate on shooting from the outside. The first quarter ended with Alaska Aces with two-point lead 22-20.
Still, in the second quarter, Alaska Aces continue to dominate the game where they continue what they have already started during the first quarter but this time Chris Exciminiano started to contribute points for the team. Alaska Aces extended the gap with five points ending with final scores 44-36. In the third quarter, we have seen Romeo Travis start work more for the Magnolia Hotshots where made successful layups during the opening of the third quarter and doing more assists on later minutes of the quarter. It was around four more points for Magnolia Hotshots to be able to tie the score.
In the fourth quarter, the Alaska Aces already have given too many fouls where the Magnolia Hotshots takes the advantage into it. It was then the Magnolia Hotshots easily reached the scored into tied where Travis working mostly on his layups and what's really gets more interesting into the game is that Jio Jalalon has been shooting successfully during the near ending of the quarter which gives the Alaska Aces a hard time to catch up. It was then the Magnolia Hotshots win the second game with final score 71-77.
